Avon High School (Avon, In) won the 2008 Bands of America Grand National Championships on Saturday, November 15 at the Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis. The Avon High School Marching Black and Gold, led by director Jay Webb, has been a long-time "Stanbury" band.
The Stanbury Uniform family congratulates Avon HS and all our "Stanbury bands" that participated in this prestigious event. A special cheer goes to Grand Nationals Finalist Lawrence Central (3rd), who just the weekend before were crowned Indiana Class 4A Champions, and to Louisiana's Lafayette HS, making their first-ever Grand Nationals Finals appearance by landing in 12th place. We are honored that both Lawrence Central and Lafayette choose Stanbury Uniforms.
Of special note is the BOA Grand Nationals "Espirit De Corps" winner Vista Murrieta High School of Murrieta, California, who also earned a semi-finals spot in their first-ever trek to Indiana. Vista Murrieta High School has only been open since 2004 and has worn Stanbury Uniforms since the school's inception just 5 short years ago.
With Avon's win in the books, Stanbury Uniforms celebrates and honors all four of the marching activity's 2008 major national champions!
