Harris Brinson
Harris Brinson is Director of Bands Emeritus at Angelo State University, San Angelo, Texas. He retired from ASU in 1997 after serving as Director of Bands for 23 years. Prior to this appointment, he was Director of Instrumental Music for the Pampa, Texas Public Schools. He served as a Texas Band Director for 32 years during which time he was very active as a conductor, clinician, and adjudicator throughout the United States and abroad. He served as President of the Texas Bandmasters Association, President of the Texas chapter of Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Association, as well as, the International President of that organization. He is a charter member of the Texas Music Adjudicators Association and an elected member of the prestigious American Bandmasters Association.
In 2001, he was honored as an Angelo State University "Outstanding Retired Faculty" member and was also named "Bandmaster of the Year" by the Texas Bandmasters Association. His most recent honor is the election to membership into the 2004 "Texas Bandmasters Hall of Fame."
Harris has been associated with Stanbury Uniforms as a Regional Manager since 1997. In addition to the uniform business, his company, HB Enterprises, provides accessories for bands and other musical groups throughout the state. Also, along with the business adventures, he is still musically active as a clinician and adjudicator.
He and his wife, Dorothy, who is retired from the human resources field, have a son, daughter and four grandchildren. Their son, Zachary, and his wife, Lillian, who reside in Southlake, Texas played in the band under Harris's direction while obtaining their degrees from ASU. They have two daughters. The Brinson's daughter, Jennifer, also a graduate of ASU, is a band director for Bellville, Ill. Her husband, John Korak, is an Associate Professor of Music and Department Chair at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville. They have a son and daughter.
Ben Gollehon
Ben Gollehon has a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Arts. Ben has been with Stanbury for five years. He was involved in public school music education
for 35 years as a band director and music administrator.
He is associated with Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Music Adjudicators Association, Phi Beta Mu International Band Fraternity, and is a member of the Texas Bandmasters Hall of Fame.
Ben and his wife, Virginia, have three grown children and two grandchildren. He enjoys travelling, hiking, fishing and hunting.
