Kathy Pickens

Kathy began her career in band uniform sales in 1978, and has been a representative for Stanbury Uniforms for over 20 years. Tagged with Kathy’s Enterprises, Kathy is able to supply her customers with a full line of apparel and accessories. Over the years, Kathy has developed a large group of friends that love to gather in her booth at conventions. Gary Roberts, Stanbury president, said, “it’s more like a family than a sales convention”. “Kathy’s longevity in this industry has given her great insight into innovative designs that are comfortable to wear and practical in everyday use”.

Mike Whittemore

Mike Whittemore has been a member of the Stanbury team for over two decades and serves as a member of the Stanbury Board of Directors.

Mike has been involved with band most of his life. As a member of the East Rutherford High School Marching Band in Forest City, North Carolilna, he participated in a fourteen day tour of Europe. In 1972, he was a member of the "Festival of States" National Championship Band. While attending a small college in South Carolina, he toured durning the summer of 1977 with the Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps of LaCrosse, Wisconsin. The Blue Stars finished 6th in the DCI finals at Denver, Colorado's Mile High Stadium that year. After graduating college, Mike spent one year as an assistant band director in South Carloina and three years as a band director in Gastonia, North Carolina.

Mike has had many years of experience working with all types and sizes of bands. He has worked with BOA regional finalists as well as bands with as few as thirty members. He is proud to have worked with many colleges and universities, including Hampton University, Appalachian State University, Wake Forest University, Duke University and the Univeristy of South Carolina.

Meetings, sketches, samples, bid specifications and measuring are among the services that he is eager and happy to provide.
