Don  Franks

Don has a Bachelor of Music Education and has done extensive post graduate work. After 28 years, he retired from teaching instrumental music in Oklahoma. He continues to frequently clinic bands, adjudicate contests, and hold a week long drum major clinic each summer.

Don is a member of the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association and has been inducted into the OBA Hall of Fame. He also remains a member of the Oklahoma Music Educators Association and was awarded their Distinguished Service Award in 1999. He is a member of the Oklahoma Music Adjudicator Association and was the organization's president for four years. Don is a member of the Oklahoma chapter of Phi Beta Mu and is the 1SG for the 145th Oklahoma Army National Guard Band. He has been in the 145th for 26 years and currently plays french horn or trumpet, serve as drum major and marching NCOIC, and assistant concert conductor. Don also serves as president for his county's chapter of Oklahoma Retired Educators Association.

His wife, Linda, was an elementary teacher for 28 years. They have 5 children, all of which are musicians. The oldest is a band director.

Don has worked for Stanbury for two years as the Oklahoma rep with Linda's help.
